Colombia in One Week: Sample Itinerary
Days 1 to 2: Cartagena
Start on the Caribbean coast. Explore the colourful Walled City on a guided walking tour, watch the sunset from the ramparts and consider a boat trip to the Rosario Islands. Two nights is enough for a relaxed first taste of Colombia.
Days 3 to 5: Medellin and Guatape
Fly to Medellin and ride the metrocable for city views. Visit Comuna 13 with a local guide to understand the city's transformation, then take a full day trip to Guatape to climb the famous rock and see the lakeside town.
Days 6 to 7: Bogota
Finish in the capital. Wander historic La Candelaria, visit the Gold Museum and ride the funicular up Monserrate for panoramic views. Bogota's cool climate is a nice contrast before you fly home.
